Seaweeds
Find out why seaweed is so important and learn to identify different types.  Create your own seaweed art.  Presented by the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center.
Ages 6 through 10 with an adult.

Water Showcase:  Drop in for a day of water themed crafts and activities.  For all ages with a parent or caregiver.

August Special Children’s Programs

Tuesday, August 3, 10  (2-4)
Game Day:  Games, games, games; play ours or bring your own.  Play against your family or friends and enjoy the competition!

Wednesday, August 4  (2-4)
World of Color(ing)
Get creative with crayons and a “summer fun” theme.

Thursday, August 5   (2-4)
Lotta Legos:  Dive into plastic containers filled with colorful building blocks and create a work of art.  For children in kindergarten and up.

Friday, August 6  (2-3)
Flock Theatre Puppet Show
A performance based on Verna Aardema's book "Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain".  Ages 6 and up with an adult.

Wednesday, August 11  (2-3:30)
H2O Olympics
Children and adults will enjoy learning the science behind the behavior of water. Try your hand at the Balance Beam, the Pole Vault, Weight Lifting and the Backstroke using water as your team mate. Program includes materials to practice before you compete. Presented by the CT DEP's Kellogg Environmental Center. Ages 9 and up with an adult.

Papillion the Pirate
Calling all rascally rogues to join Captain Papillion's band of pirates. He celebrates positive pirating with musical storytelling of pirating and the sea. It's an adventure for the whole family.

Friday, August 13  (2-3:30)
Lotta Legos Tournament
Join a competition for the most creative use of legos.  Judging begins at 3:00.  For all ages with an adult.

Monday, August, 16
Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Drop off and register your stuffed animal friends at the Library between 4-6 pm.
Pick them up Tuesday, August 17 between 10-1 and do a special activity with them.  Open to all ages, one per child.  Please be sure you can sleep without this animal for the night!

Kindergarten Stars
Get ready for Kindergarten!  Starting kindergarten is a big step for a little person.  Get ready with fun, reassuring stories and activities.  For all children who will be attending kindergarten this school year.

The TumbleBook Library is a fun and interactive library of animated, talking story books for preschoolers, beginning readers and older independent readers. You can read along and listen or read on your own.

A program that combines music, movement, books, and language development to help children get ready to read. Birth - 3 years with a parent/caregiver.
Fantastic Friends

This story time features music, stories, and crafts. Independent listeners. Ages 3 and up.
Pajama Time
Wednesdays	6:30-7	July 28 August 4, 11
An evening story time for children ages 2 and up with an adult. Come dressed for bed and join the fun on Wednesday evenings for 30 minutes of great stories and songs, and then head home to be tucked in!
