The purpose of storytime is to encourage in our children the love of language and literature in all forms. Kids listen to, observe and imitate the books and activities we share, building reading readiness as they grow. Our goal is to create positive interactions with books for the parents, caregivers and children to experience together. This can be best done in an intimate setting without interruptions and distractions.
Please note:
• To provide the best storytime experience for you and your child, weekly programs will be held in the children’s Activity Room.
• Each session of ‘Little Listeners’ will be limited to 15 children and their caregivers.
• Each session of ‘Fantastic Friends’ will be limited to 20 children.
• Pre-registration is not required but space is limited.
• Admission to storytime will be by nametag.
• Nametags will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tips for parents and caregivers:
• Please discuss storytime with your child before you come. It helps young children to be prepared when they know what is expected of them.
• Continue the storytime experience by checking out books to take home for your child.
• For ‘Fantastic Friends,’ please stay in the Children’s Room while your child is attending the storytime. Be prepared to promptly join your child when the door opens.
• Just like you, other parents will appreciate a sick child skipping a week.
• If you have any questions, please ask the children’s librarians for assistance.
